Dave and Melissa, thank you for sharing all of this and keeping us updated. In this unthinkable, undesirable thing callled leaukemia, by the grace of God, you point us to the goodness and faithfulness of Him. Thank you. We love you and continue to pray. Tosha and Mark
We will continue to pray for you all during this trial! And we will continue to pray for God's healing! We also will be praying that the Lord gives Dave and Melissa peace during this time. I will be watching your website for any updates
Thanks for sharing your story. The verses you shared were uplifting and true. We can't imagine going through a trial without the Lord. We will continue to pray for you and your family.
Dave & Melissa, As I read your blog and looked at the pics of your sweet little boy....my heart just went out to you guys. Although, my daughter was diagnosed with a different disease, we know all to well the blow that comes from hearing "your child is seriously ill." We have experienced much of what you'll are going through- the spinal taps, bone marrow biopsies, IV infusions, steroid treatment and all that comes with that. It has been a very long road but God has always given us the strength to get through each battle even when we felt like we had nothing left and I know He will do the same for your family. Please know that we will pray for your family & little Elliot daily. Jennifer (George) Brown
Your posting of your journey, I know, will be a blessing to many . . . now and in the future. Thank you for sharing this and I will pray for you. As the mother of 13 and Grandmother to 6 (two in utero), I can only imagine how this affects your whole family. You are showing God has prepared you for this long ago and he is not immune to anything you are/will experience.
Hi, my niece, Monique, is a friend of your sister and immediately told me about Elliot. On Oct. 9, 2008 our 21 month old daugher Leah was diagnosed with ALL. She completed her treatment in Dec. 2010, turned 4 in Jan and is doing great. I know too well the feelings and emotions that your family must be going through. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you would like to talk. Your sister can ask Monique for my number and/or email.
Dave and Melissa...reading your blog just breaks my heart for your family. You have been through so much...Praise God you know The Great Physician! We will keep you in our thoughts and prayers as you go through this very difficult time. God Bless you all. Jer. 33:3 Peggy Nelson
I went to college with Sharon and she has told me about your family. I am praying constantly for your family and Elliot. My Mom was diagnosed with stage IV colon cancer last August. She is still taking chemo. It is hard. It is ugly. But through it all God will be glorified! I am thankful you have your faith in God. Know that we are praying. Thanks also for the blog to keep updates on. Your boy is adorable!!!
Dear Dave & Melissa, Your little family is in our thoughts and prayers day to day. We are praying for all of you. Wish I could give you all a big hug! A couple of verses come to mind: Isaiah 41:10 and 1 Peter 5:7. Love you! Aunt Joanne and Uncle Earl
I want to let you know that Elliot and your family are in our thoughts and prayers. My niece, Monique, informs me of how Elliot is doing. All my best, positive thoughts and prayers.
Hi Dave and Melissa, This is Chuck Conrad. I want you to know that I am personally lifting your family up in prayer to God every morning. Elliot is on our church's prayer sheet and is lifted up by many others as well. Please consider me one your major prayer warriors concerning all of your family's needs. Email me or call with specific request any time, day or night and I'll be ready. Our great Father in Heaven loves you and your little boy so much. Most believers go through rough roads and after they've traveled those roads they are closer to God than ever before. James 4:8a says "Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you." You have been hand selected by God to go through this and will come out victorious in many ways. Hang in there and know there is a group of people in MD that love and care about you all. God bless you, Pastor Chuck
This is Bethany Spencer (Payne). Amanda Salle told me about Elliot a couple months ago, and I've been praying for him and you all ever since. I'm thankful I found your blog. My husband and I will continue bringing your family before the throne of grace.
Just found your blog by looking up other bloggers who have as a interest reformed theology. Just want you to know that I believe God led me here so that I can join with others in praying for Elliot. It is so wonderful that we serve a sovereign God who loves us and leads us. I will check back in and continue to pray for your sweet boy.
It has been awhile since I took a look at your blog to see how Elliot is faring. It's good to see pictures of him up and about, getting to do things little boys enjoy doing. The good thing about cancer research is that it is making big strides in so many areas. That has to give you a boost as you go through this time in your lives with Elliot and his disease.
I will remember to put your names in a more prominent spot in my prayer list. It seems that my prayer list is growing of people who are directly or indirectly dealing with some form of cancer. (That probably is due to the fact that I was told in January that I have cancer. I have become even more sensitive to others dealing with cancer as well as their family.)
Our son, Zachary, 41 months (nearly 3.5 yrs old) was diagnosed with Pre-B ALL as well on 4/5/2012. I find this blog quite insightful in a fortunate and unforunate way. Unfortunate that Elliot has ALL and fortunate that his prognosis is good. We have began the consolidation phase this Tuesday and don't know what to expect. This site provides insightful information as to what we can generally expect. We wish Elliot all the best going forward whereas we will be back here to follow his journey and fight against this horrible disease.
